Sam Wang has been a proud resident of Richmond for over 30 years. As a Chartered Professional Accountant, he has dedicated his career to strengthening business, supporting community initiatives, and serving the public good. With decades of experience as a senior financial executive, corporate director, and former audit committee chair for publicly listed companies, Sam has the expertise to manage complex issues, safeguard taxpayers’ dollars, and ensure fiscal accountability in every decision.
Sam is also a passionate advocate for accessibility. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Richmond Centre for Disability and chairs its Finance Committee. In this role, he works closely with staff, volunteers, and residents to protect essential services, to ensure financial transparency and sustainability, and to create a community where every individual — regardless of ability — has a voice in shaping Richmond’s future.
His long career in both the private and nonprofit sectors has given him a deep understanding of Richmond’s economic and social needs. Sam knows that families and entrepreneurs alike depend on a resilient local economy, safe neighbourhoods, and transparent leadership. With his professional background, leadership skills, and commitment to service, Sam is ready to contribute his experience to help Richmond grow stronger, safer, and more inclusive — ensuring that accountability, integrity, and long-term vision guide the city’s future.
