Leading Richmond Forward — join us in building a safer, stronger, and more united city.
Kevin Lai
Kevin Lai(賴彥宏) has lived in Richmond for the past four years, after spending over a decade in Vancouver, as well as time in Surrey and Langley. Since immigrating to Canada in 1993, he has seen firsthand how cities can thrive when governments listen to their people — and how quickly they can decline when they do not.
Kevin is a business owner and general contractor with more than ten years of experience. His work has brought him into constant contact with Richmond’s permitting system and local homeowners, giving him direct insight into the struggles residents face with city processes. Having also operated businesses, Kevin understands the challenges of running a small business in Richmond, from high costs to heavy regulations.
As the founder of the Advance Richmond Community Association (ARC) and president of the Richmond Centre Conservative Electoral District Association, Kevin has worked to bring neighbours together through block parties, community forums, and advocacy on issues such as housing, public safety, and drug policy. He played a key role in uniting Richmond’s Chinese communities to stop a proposed drug injection site, the largest resident-led rally in Richmond’s history.
Kevin’s goal is simple: to keep Richmond safe, strong, and responsive to its people — and to make sure residents’ voices are always heard.
