Gary Law 羅錦添
Gary Law has dedicated his career to public service, community safety, and building trust between institutions and the people they serve. With extensive experience in law enforcement, military service, and public engagement, he brings a practical, community-first perspective to local issues.
Gary previously served as a senior officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and as a Major in the Canadian Army Reserve. Through these roles, he developed a strong foundation in leadership, discipline, and crisis management, along with a deep commitment to protecting and serving the public.
Following his service, Gary continued his work in public safety as a driving examiner with ICBC, helping ensure road safety and responsible driving standards across the community.
Today, Gary is a radio host at Fairchild Radio FM 96.1, where he engages directly with the public on issues related to policing, law, and community well-being. His work in media allows him to connect with residents from diverse backgrounds and better understand the concerns and priorities of the community.
Gary is also an active volunteer, regularly performing at senior centres and speaking at community organizations on public safety topics. He is passionate about supporting seniors, strengthening community connections, and sharing knowledge that helps keep people safe.
Throughout his career, Gary has been recognized for his contributions to community relations, including receiving the National Award for Police Community Relations. He believes that effective public safety depends on trust, communication, and collaboration—not enforcement alone.
Gary’s personal experiences, including the loss of his eldest son, have shaped his perspective and deepened his empathy for others. He is committed to serving with compassion, understanding, and a focus on bringing people together.
Gary believes leadership means working alongside the community to address challenges and deliver practical results. He is committed to contributing his experience and dedication to building a safer, stronger, and more connected Richmond.
